The assignment of an immigration and customs enforcement officer full time to the Costa Mesa city jail is a good start. Hopefully, Costa Mesa will be able to staff four or five of these officers full time in the near future. The City Council is certainly on the right track to maintaining public safety. Mayor Allan Mansoor has made a bold step forward in restoring the rule of law to the community.

Finally somebody is doing something about these people being illegal in jail and committing crimes. All I can say is it’s been far overdue, and it does my heart good that somebody is trying to take care of something anyway.

I think it’s fantastic that this arrangement has been made between Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Costa Mesa Police Department. Bravo to Mayor Mansoor that he has persevered through a nasty battle with people who represent those who have no rights in our country.

The United States of America has always been a sovereign nation. Most Americans would prefer to keep it that way. I want my children and grandchildren to enjoy this country as I did as a child. Present government leaders have a selfish, global agenda, which ignores the middle class, emphasizing corporate wealth and power, and thus focusing on the rich while pressing middle-class citizens down into a huge, powerless lower class.

I will fight this concept to the death. The youth of my family and their children to follow will be the losers if we do not join together while we still have the strength and the will to do so. Americans who have thus far continued to do nothing must be aware of the gravity of millions of unknown, un-vetted foreigners invading our nation! Now that the Democrats are coming into some “power,” they are going to try to buddy-up with Bush (not a pretty sight) in order to implement his travesty of an amnesty for at least 25 million illegal immigrants. America must wake up!

It is imperative that we secure our borders. We must address the greedy American employers of illegal immigrants by citing them and hitting them with heavy fines and jail time for aiding and abetting those who would breach our borders, ports and all other points of entry into the country.

In this time of terrorist threat, anyone who has come to the country illegally needs to be identified by all means necessary to do so, and then deported. There is no inherent right for Mexico’s Third World masses to occupy the U.S. We need to be more selective in the choices we make in allowing emigration into the U.S. We need to stop outsourcing jobs for the purpose of saving a buck.

Thank God for the true American patriots! Thank God for Mayor Mansoor, a brave and intelligent representative of the people!

Finally. I hope that our citizens are taking the time to deport illegal immigrants. If President Reagan didn’t fail in 1985 to do the right thing and deport the illegal immigrants, we wouldn’t have this problem now. So please, we do not want to make the same mistake that Reagan did back in ’85. Otherwise forget it about, America, and this is going to be another Latin country.

I am a legal immigrant. I came the right way, and I am an American. I am an American, not Mexican-American. So please do support the Immigration and Customs Enforcement plan to deport illegal immigrants.

My opinion would be when the last two police chiefs for the city of Costa Mesa and the Orange County sheriff all think it’s a bad idea for a local agency to check immigration status, I think it’s got to make the rational person stop and wonder if it truly is a bad idea.
