Kathy Murphy, Mike Murphy, Peggy Hoyt and Norma Crosby, current and former employees of the Newport-Mesa Unified School District, finished the Breast Cancer three-day, 60-mile walk in San Diego to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Gary Tolar was recently introduced as the new commodore at the annual meeting of the Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club in Newport Beach. Tolar, who has been a member of the yacht club since 1999, was the port captain for one year and its power fleet captain for two years. In his role as commodore, he will focus on building the club’s junior sailing program and encouraging new membership.
