NEIGHBORS: Grant becomes president

Laguna Beach resident Kathryn Grant has been named president-elect for the Junior League of Orange County.

Grant has been a member of the Junior League for eight years. She joined the organization in Palo Alto, where she was co-chairwoman of the Breakfast at Tiffany’s event for the Annual Holiday Boutique.

After transferring to the Orange County chapter, she served as chairwoman of the outreach and recruitment committee and the YMCA Project.

Grant also has acted as the chapter’s training director and the communications director. She earned a bachelor’s from the UC Berkeley, and has spent her career in the aesthetic/cosmetic industry.

She is senior director of marketing for Thermage, a leading aesthetic industry equipment manufacturer. Kathryn and her husband, Robert, reside in Laguna Beach.

Funds raised annually by the JLOCC directly impact the community through collaborative projects with partner organizations and support JLOCC’s mission of promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community.

This year’s projects include the Kinship Project and Bridges to Higher Education, two programs offered through Orangewood Children’s Foundation; Higher Education Mentoring Program (in partnership with the Orange County Bar Foundation); Court-Appointed Special Advocates; Emancipated Youth Program; and Bear Hugs, a project supporting emancipated teens in Orange County.
