Jean Kircher Oleson

April 3, 1935 – August 12, 2008
With her family by her side, our beloved
Jeannie passed this life last Tuesday from
complications of a sudden lung illness.
Jean was born with her twin sister, Judy, in
Hollywood, California. Appropriately, she
was in the movies as a young child, playing
alongside Katharine Hepburn in the 1936
film “Mary of Scotland.” (Her credits can be
seen on imdb.com.)
Jean lived in the greater Los Angeles area for most of her childhood
and graduated from USC in 1956, a Kappa Alpha Theta. She
married Alan Oleson in 1957 and experienced Air Force life with
her new husband. The couple moved to Orange County in 1959
and lived there as she became a mother and raised their three
children. She lived in Corona Del Mar since 1986.
Jean is survived by her husband Alan Oleson, their children
Linda Baber, Eric Oleson and Pamela Kreiser, by her twin sister
Judith, brothers Bill Kircher and Bob Kircher, step mother, ten
grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Jean was well loved
by each of her family members and by an extensive circle of friends.
She loved each of her friends, and knew how to be a good friend to
each of them.
This vital and vibrant lady was engaged and active throughout
her whole life. She was blessed to travel all over the world; usually
with a copy of the Daily Pilot. She skied, played tennis, sailed, and
swam regularly right up until she fell ill. She was an active member
of Balboa Yacht Club for 42 years. She volunteered for local
organizations and her son’s church, God’s House Church.
To celebrate her life and the many ways that she blessed all of us,
a memorial service will be held this Sunday, August 17th at 1:15
pm at the Community Church Congregational, 611 Heliotrope,
Corona Del Mar, with a reception following at 3pm at Balboa
Yacht Club, 1801 Bayside Drive. In lieu of flowers, family and
friends may consider a donation to God’s House Church, 6421
Meadowcrest Drive, Huntington Beach, CA 92647.
