Sailors have chance for revenge against Los Al
- Share via
The last time Newport Harbor High and Los Alamitos met, Sailors Coach Dan Glenn was left wanting his girls’ volleyball team to close out games. Tonight, the Sailors will get another crack at the Griffins, trying to set up a first-place tie in the Sunset League.
Newport Harbor (15-5, 4-1 in league) will play host to Los Alamitos, which is undefeated in league, today at 4:30 p.m. Glenn said the match is starting early because the Griffins have their homecoming football game later in the evening. The Sailors’ football team also play, at home against Fountain Valley.
Los Al is ranked No. 3 in CIF Southern Section Division I-AA. Newport Harbor is ranked No. 6 in CIF Division I-AA.
The Griffins beat the Sailors, 25-23, 27-25, 25-27, 21-25, 15-13, on Oct. 7.
