This one could be a barn burner.
At tonight’s Costa Mesa City Council meeting, councilwomen Katrina Foley and Wendy Leece will try to convince their fellow council members to overturn some budget cuts — mostly ones that Foley and Leece say hurt children and the underprivileged — that were approved last month.
For instance, the council cut the mobile recreation program in which Parks and Recreation Department employees travel to lower class areas of the city and break out games and sports equipment for to play with and use.
Altogether, the programs Foley and Leece want to restore amount to about $200,000.
