High School Roundup: Estancia boys’ water polo tops Fountain Valley

Micah Gniffke and Kervin Lim Sy each scored three goals as the Estancia High boys’ water polo team beat Fountain Valley, 10-5, in a nonleague match Wednesday at Estancia.
Peyton Watkins made 10 saves for the Eagles, who improved to 3-0. Estancia plays in the El Dorado tournament beginning Friday.
Fountain Valley is now 4-2 this season.
Newport Harbor 16, Foothill 6: The Sailors moved to 4-0 this season after Wednesday’s home win.
Newport Harbor hosts Campolindo on Sept. 15 at 7 p.m.
GIRLS’ GOLF
Costa Mesa 302, Calvary Chapel 312: Sydney Ngo was medalist for the Mustangs with a six-over-par 41 in Wednesday’s Orange Coast League match at Costa Mesa Country Club’s Mesa Linda course.
Izel Avelar Flores shot a 49 for Costa Mesa, which improved to 3-1 in league.
Estancia 283, Orange 316: Dillon Morgan shot a 14-over-par 48 for the Eagles, earning medalist honors in Wednesday’s Orange Coast League match at River View Golf Course.
Estancia improved to 3-2 overall, 2-1 in league.
GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL
Pacifica Christian Orange County 3, Corona Crossroads Christian 0: Becca Penjoyan had 12 kills for the Tritons in Wednesday’s 25-12, 25-9, 25-9 road victory.
Ava Loritz had seven kills, Elle Steffens had five kills and Savannah Parker added six service aces for Pacifica Christian (8-5), which hosts Calvary Chapel on Friday at 2 p.m.
