Virgin America Airways announced Wednesday that it would begin nonstop daily service from Los Angeles to Las Vegas starting April 22. The San Francisco-based airline, which consistently receives high marks for its leather seats, touchscreen entertainment and Wi-Fi, will operate three daily flights between the two cities.
Flights leave Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) at 11:30 a.m., 3:15 p.m. and 7 p.m.; return flights leave Las Vegas at 1:20 p.m., 5:05 p.m. and 8:50 p.m.
Tickets went on sale Wednesday for $39 each way, an airfare good for reservations made until 9:59 p.m. Pacific time Friday. Travel during the sale period is good from April 22 through Aug. 14, and tickets must be bought 21 days in advance of departure. The cheapest rates are available on flights Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Last month, Virgin America started flying from Palm Springs to JFK Airport in New York City and will add flights from Los Angeles to Newark, N.J., starting in April. It has been chosen best domestic airline by Conde Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards for the past five years.
