Las Vegas: Meet the ‘Pawn Stars’ and donate to charity too

TV’s “Pawn Stars,” already so well known that fans gather to try to catch a glimpse of the show’s filming, may be drawing even bigger crowds thanks to daily autograph sessions at the featured Gold & Silver Pawn shop. And it’s for a good cause.

Each day, more than 4,000 fans of the History Channel series visit the store at 713 Las Vegas Blvd. S., not only to shop but also for a chance to watch as segments of the show are shot. Fans by the hundreds often can be seen lined up on the sidewalk, waiting to get inside.

Now, fans can meet the stars. The three generations of Harrisons who run the shop -- Richard, son Rick and grandson Corey -- promise to take one break a day to greet guests, pose for photos and sign autographs. If a customer chooses to buy an item and have a member of the Harrison family sign his name on that purchase, 100% of the sale price will be donated to various charities.

The Harrisons will be holding autograph sessions Mondays through Fridays through Feb. 22 and March 11-April 5. Additional dates are planned later in the year, though sessions will be worked in around the shooting schedule, so precise times will be random.

“It took some serious planning and trial runs, but we think we now have a system that works to allow more fans to meet us and the experts on the show. That was the one piece missing to a great experience when visiting Gold & Silver Pawn,” Rick Harrison said in a news release.

The shop is open 9 a.m.-9 p.m. daily, but in true Las Vegas tradition, the drive-up window remains open all night long.
