Charlie Sheen was transported to a hospital Thursday morning for severe abdominal pains, his publicist told ShowTracker.
Details are sketchy. According to TMZ, which first reported the news, Sheen was transported to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in L.A. at about 7 a.m. Neighbors told the site that it appeared Sheen had thrown a party the night before.
[Update 12:45 p.m.: The Los Angeles Fire Department will only confirm that they were called to a home in a gated community in the 1400 block of W. Aubrey Road after 6:30 a.m. and transported an unidentified patient to a local hospital.]
CBS declined to comment on the matter.
The splashy headlines never end with Sheen. Earlier this month, the “Two and a Half Men” star caused a stir at a TV taping in Las Vegas where he displayed erratic behavior. And we all remember that incident in New York where a drunk, naked Sheen was accused of trashing a hotel room.
And all the antics aren’t going unnoticed by the folks at CBS.
“I have a high level of concern,” Nina Tassler, entertainment chief of CBS, told reporters during the TCA press tour earlier this month. “How could I not? … This man is a father, he’s got children.”
Sheen’s hospital visit isn’t likely to cause any delays. The show is currently on a scheduled hiatus.
Perhaps Jon Cryer, Sheen’s costar on the CBS comedy, was being clairvoyant when he appeared on Wednesday’s episode of “Conan.” Check out the video.
