Some of the middle-aged guys on the Mater Dei sideline are talking to themselves.

‘We need a hold,’ they’re saying of the Monarchs’ defense. They don’t get it.

Centennial burns them deep, going 83 yards in about four plays to tie the score at 17, and all the middle-aged guys are besides themselves. They let out a collective sigh. You’d think they were expecting this to be easy.
