One man was killed and another was injured Tuesday when they were thrown from their car on Interstate 8 when it overturned at about 3 p.m. while entering the northbound California 163 on-ramp, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The driver of, Martin Lopez, 25, of San Diego was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. He was in stable condition Tuesday night, a hospital spokesman said.
The name of the passenger, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was not released pending notification of his family, authorities said.
The men were not wearing seat belts.
