A 16-year-old Santa Ana boy was arrested Monday in connection with the shooting death of a man in mid-February, authorities said.
Isreal Jorge Oregal, 20, of Santa Ana was gunned down at close range in a back alley near the 1700 block of Evergreen Street on Feb. 17, Police Sgt. Bob Enfley said.
The slaying apparently occurred after an argument, Enfley said. The victim, who lived in an apartment complex near the alley, was rushed to a hospital, where he died 11 days later, he said.
The shooting was apparently gang-related, Enfley said.
The suspect, whose name was withheld because of his age, was being held at a juvenile facility on suspicion of murder, he said.
