ON THE TIP: Hip-hop faves De La Soul return May 14 with a new album titled “De La Soul Is Dead.” The title isn’t the only shocker--the album features rap’s first incest song, “Milly Pulled a Pistol on Santa,” plus such raucous new tunes as “Ring Ring Ring (Ha Ha Hey),” “Afro Connection at a High Five (Reality of a ‘Hood),” “A Roller Skating Jam Named Saturdays” and “Bitties in the BK Lounge” (rap slang translation: Hunting for cute young girls at the Burger King). . . . Surely the only thing scarier than having to listen to “Ice Ice Baby” again would be (groan!) having to hear a cover version of the much-maligned rap hit. The good news: The remake comes from comic pop historians Big Daddy, the group that performs current hits as if they were ‘50s oldies. Due out later this month, the band’s new album “Cutting Their Own Groove” includes “Ice Ice Baby” (as a Chuck Berry-Vanilla B. Goode-style rocker) plus Paul Simon’s “Graceland” (as a Elvis Presley-rockabilly hit), “I Want Your Sex” (as a tear-jerker) and “Talking Heads’ “Once in a Lifetime” (as a Harry Belafonte calypso number).
