Granada Hills Beats Kennedy in Semifinal

First baseman Robert Fowble hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to propel Granada Hills High to an 8-7 victory over Kennedy in a semifinal game of the Holt-Willis Tournament at Kennedy on Monday.
Granada Hills (9-5-1) will face Poly (14-1) in the tournament final at Birmingham High at 1:30 p.m. today.
Behind the six-hit pitching of right-hander Raul Torres, Poly defeated Chatsworth, 9-1, at Birmingham in the other semifinal. Jesus Perez, Jonathan Campbell, Robert Aros and Francisco Flores each had two hits for Poly.
Jason Makahon had given Kennedy (9-6) a 7-6 lead in the top of the sixth with a three-run triple.
