Kurd Aid: The full lineup won’t be announced until Thursday but a couple of big names already are commited to a Live Aid-style concert to help the Kurds in Iraq. M. C. Hammer and Peter Gabriel have agreed to play at the May 12 show at London’s Wembley Stadium. The organizers, novelist Jeffrey Archer and rock promoter Harvey Goldsmith, are still waiting to hear from Elton John, Rod Stewart and Paul McCartney. In the spirit of the 1985 Live Aid show that benefited African famine victims, fund-raising concerts also will be held in New York and Paris in hopes of raising more than $40 million.
