Foes of the planned San Joaquin Hills toll road raised more than $18,000 Saturday with an art auction at Annaliese’s School/Willow-Brook in Laguna Beach. The money will be used to help the Natural Resources Defense Council wage a court battle against the toll road, which would cut across Laguna Canyon, said auction organizer Nancy Zeiger. Some 35 Laguna Beach artists donated their artworks for the event and Zeiger gave a Frank Stella serigraph that fetched $10,000. “The Laguna Beach artists gave their all for this,” Zeiger said. “They don’t want that toll road.”
