Jim Gary, a 6-foot, 209-pound tailback from Okeechobee, Fla., said he is a victim of a rule that forbids freshmen from playing if they fail to meet certain academic requirements. Gary was the fourth-ranked high school running back in the nation this past season, according to the National High School Recruiting Service.
