James F. Calvano was elected president and chief operating officer of New Valley Corp., formerly known as Western Union Corp.
Calvano succeeds Robert J. Amman, who has been elected vice chairman and continues as chief executive of the Upper Saddle River, N.J. firm.
Before joining New Valley, Calvano, 54, was president and chief executive of Carlson Travel Group in Minneapolis.
