A 19-year-old man was killed when the car in which he was riding went down a 350-foot embankment off Interstate 15 Friday, California Highway Patrol officials said.
The victim’s name has not been released pending notification of his family, CHP dispatcher Elaine Schuller said. He was a resident of Ontario in San Bernardino County, Schuller said.
According to officials, the driver, Tyron Edgarston, 31, also from Ontario, was headed south on I-15, south of Mission Road, at about 1:55 p.m. when his car grazed another vehicle and went off the embankment.
The other two passengers in the back seat suffered moderate injuries and were taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital, Schuller said.
