CYPRESS : Library Program for Children Begins
- Share via
The “Out of This World” summer reading program, an effort to motivate children to choose books for fun, is under way at the Cypress Library.
Designed for children ages 3 to 12, participants are awarded prizes for every five books they read. Parents may read aloud to children under 6. The awards--including coupons, free books and miniature space ships--will be given through Aug. 14.
To supplement the reading program, the Fun Club meets every Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. Magic shows and performances by storytellers are some of the free scheduled events held during Fun Club meetings.
Children ages 3 to 6 can participate in Moonchild Storytime. The free, 30-minute sessions are held Monday and Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. and include flannel board stories, puppets and activities to introduce young children to the library.
The Cypress Library is at 5331 Orange Ave.
