Gamblers gulped coffee in the wee hours of the morning as casinos for the first time in Atlantic City stayed open around the clock. Most of the gamblers said they liked the chance to keep gambling without worrying about being kicked out at closing time. As part of a package to help the struggling casinos, New Jersey lawmakers allowed the Casino Control Commission to authorize 24-hour gambling on weekends, holidays and during special events .
