A ROSE IS A ROSE: Axl Rose...

A ROSE IS A ROSE: Axl Rose is quite the celeb these days, thanks to the tumultuous Guns N’ Roses tour, which seems to have spawned an Axl temper tantrum at virtually every stop. (Near St. Louis, a riot ensued after Rose dove into the crowd, trying to wrestle a camera away from one of his fans). So it hardly comes as a surprise to find that the upcoming album from local faves Mary’s Danish features a song titled “Axl Rose Is Love.” Drawing on Rose’s infamous racial slurs in the song, “One in a Million,” the lyrics go in part:
Your time will come, your will be done
in Earth as in Hell,
what goes around comes around,
there’s racism and bigotry,
there’s a problem we need to address . . .
There’s not enough room for this kind of hatred,
white against black, black against white,
it shouldn’t be a fight.”
