Husband Held in Bombing at Home

EL MONTE, Calif. — A man was arrested for investigation of rigging several homemade bombs, one of which exploded when his estranged wife opened the door of their home, authorities said.
Gene Rosenkrantz, 58, was booked Friday on charges of using an explosive device with intent to injure. His bail was set at $60,000, said Sheriff’s Deputy Rich Erickson.
Rosenkrantz’s wife, Shirley, was not hurt in the blast, which occurred at about 5:45 p.m. Friday.
