SANTIAGO, Cuba — Chris Roberts drove in four runs with a double and three-run home run Sunday as the United States beat Cuba, 6-1, in baseball.
By winning two of three games, the United States, fielding a team of college players, won an amateur baseball series in Cuba for the first time.
Doubles by Jason Giambi, Roberts and Dan Melendez gave the United States a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning.
An inning later, Roberts hit a three-run homer to cap a four-run U.S. uprising.
Ivan Zwaig, pitching in relief of starter Rick Helling, got the victory.
