Move by Smart & Final: Smart & Final, which bills itself as “the oldest and largest warehouse (grocery) chain in the country,” is moving its store in South County about 3 miles from Laguna Hills to El Toro.
Opening July 29, the new store on El Toro Road is nearly twice as large as the former store, said the Los Angeles-based chain’s chairman, Robert J. Emmons. The extra space has allowed the chain to broaden its product selection.
The 112-store chain is expanding and plans to open 35 new stores in the next three years.
