TIME PAIN: Pushing up the opening of the New York Stock Exchange to 9 a.m. EDT has West Coast brokers protesting, but not because they have to start work by 6 a.m., says Jeffrey Kilpatrick of Newport Securities in Costa Mesa. . . . “If the market’s going nuts at 6:15 a.m., I can’t get ahold of my clients anyway, and that puts their investments at greater risk.” Adds another broker: “This is an East Coast issue, and a West Coast inconvenience.”
