“FOLK SONGS OF THE WORLD.” Quink. Telarc CD-80275. The Dutch vocal quintet sings with well-recorded clarity and security here, in 25 European, Israeli and American songs arranged by Vaughan Williams, Martinu, Reger, Schoenberg, Canteloube and others. Missing from these beautifully bland performances and arrangements, however, is any sense of earthy energy or differentiated ethnic bite.
