REDISTRICTING: A public hearing of the Los Angeles County Supervisorial District Boundary Review Committee is scheduled for Monday at 4 p.m. in Room 739 of the Hall of Administration, 500 W. Temple St. The committee will hear testimony on its initial redistricting plan, with written statements also welcome.
GARDEN UNVEILED: Pasadena officials on Monday will unveil a restored Italian garden in the courtyard of the city’s historic City Hall. The garden incorporates drought tolerant Mediterranean plants, 120 tons of crushed granite and a 20-foot-tall Italian concrete fountain, which recycles water. The 11 a.m. unveiling will be at 100 N. Garfield Ave.
SCHOOLS HEARING: A parents group will appear in Compton Superior Court on Tuesday seeking to end Lynwood’s fledgling year-round school program. The parents say the district did not properly notify them of the program. District officials say the notification was proper, and argue that a year-round schedule is the best way to alleviate school overcrowding.
DEVELOPMENT PLANS: The financial impact of a planned $600-million, 450-acre “urban village” of parks, homes and commercial centers on Montebello’s northern hills will be discussed by the City Council at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday in the east conference room of City Hall, 1600 W. Beverly Blvd.
