Robbery Suspect Shot, Wounded by Deputy

A sheriff’s deputy shot and wounded a suspect in a Paramount park Saturday after the man fired seven shots at two robbery victims, police said.
Deputy Hal Grant said the suspect, identified as Robert Diaz, 23, of Paramount, missed with all seven shots, five of which were fired as he stood over the victims. Diaz was taken to Charter Suburban Hospital with a thigh wound and was being held on charges of armed robbery and assault.
