Escondido’s Seymour Second in Triathlon

SANTA ROSA — David Cihasky edged Escondido’s Brian Seymour to win the Vineman Triathlon held Saturday in the vineyards and waters of Northern California’s wine country.

Cihasky, 31, of Chippewa Falls, Wis., had a time of 9:02.10 to beat Seymour, who was at 9:05.44, and David Turner of Seattle, 9:09.31.

The event included a 2.4-mile swim in the Russian River, a 112-mile bike ride, followed by a 26.2-mile run.
