Northwest Eyes Pan Am Routes: Northwest Airlines said it wants to buy two international routes from bankrupt Pan Am Corp. and will challenge a plan by rival Delta Air Lines Inc. to take an equity stake in Pan Am. St. Paul, Minn.-based Northwest said it would pay $20 million for Pan Am’s route from Detroit to London’s Gatwick Airport. It also would pay $35 million for Pan Am’s Detroit-London route and Los Angeles-Mexico City route.
