A pay increase was approved for police officers by the City Council early Wednesday morning.
Under the two-year agreement, the officers will receive a 4.7% cost of living increase the first year and a 4% to 8% increase the second year, based on a formula tied to the consumer price index.
The council also agreed to boost educational incentives and increase the detective bonus to 5% of the employee’s base salary.
