Not Even for Peanuts: Elvira, “Mistress of the Dark,” has turned down $10,000 to appear with an elephant on “Circus of the Stars.” In a letter to the show’s producer, Elvira says that because of her membership in People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals and other animal rights groups, she cannot “in good conscience” be on the show. The letter is signed by Cassandra Peterson, “aka Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.”
