The Continental Basketball Assn. disbanded the Bakersfield Jammers because owner Dominic Cortese filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy last week.
The Jammers’ early-season winning record wasn’t enough to attract the kind of fan support needed to keep them afloat. A group of local investors apparently was trying to save the club last week, but the deal fell through.
