Steve Everitt, Michigan’s All-Big Ten center, is not expected to start because of a leg injury. Matt Elliott will move over from guard to take his place, with Doug Skene replacing Elliott at guard. . . . The availability of Steve Emtman will be determined during pregame warm-ups, Washington Coach Don James said. Emtman missed three days of practice because of flu, but is expected to play most of the game. . . . Said Michigan Coach Gary Moeller, after meeting with former coach Schembechler Monday night: “He gave me five plays. Three of them involved the fullback.” . . . The Pac-10 has won 18 of the last 22 Rose Bowl games.
