Claremont Student Is READaTHON Winner
Reading has really paid off for Ryan Colgan of Claremont, one of two winners of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s annual READaTHON.
Colgan, 12, read 31 books in six weeks and collected $660 for the Multiple Sclerosis Society from sponsors who agreed to pay him for each book read.
As part of his prize, Colgan, who attends Los Robles Middle School, was scheduled to ride on the International House of Pancakes’ “Children’s Quest For Knowledge” float in the Rose Parade.
The restaurant chain built the float and was a READaTHON sponsor.
