More than 2,300 customers were without power for two hours because of a broken power circuit in the Loma Portal area, a spokesman from San Diego Gas & Electric Co. said.
Shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday, a bad circuit forced SDG&E; to shut off power as it made the repair that affected service at nearby homes and traffic lights until about 3 p.m. when the circuit was fully repaired, said Fred Vaughn, a spokesman for SDG&E.;
The broken circuit was located in an underground vault at Sports Arena Boulevard and Channel Way.
