Taking Oates to Task for Past Predictions

Bob Oates’ comments about the unsportsmanlike conduct of the San Francisco players and coaches is so typical of a never-pay-for-a-sporting-event sportswriter. Do you really think it was childish for the 49ers to “work out their frustrations on a beaten team simply because they missed the playoffs”?

As a San Diego Chargers season ticket-holder, I can tell you there was not one 49er fan who thought the beating the Bears took was unsportsmanlike. I spend nearly a week’s pay to purchase my two seats just so I can watch professional football. I don’t care which team is scoring as long as they are entertaining the fans that paid to see them. Bob, try putting down your pen for a year and relive the life of a paying football fan.
