Good sightseeing, though: Servite boys’ basketball team played three games in the Washington, D.C., area last week.
In a word, the Friars’ play was disappointing. In several words, it was dismal, sluggish and mediocre.
The Friars went 1-2 on the trip, losing to Dunbar and West Potomac before beating Quince Orchard.
“We found out we can play just as bad on the East Coast as we can on the West Coast,” Coach Richard Smith said.
However, there were some consolations.
“Other then the basketball, everything was great,” Smith said. “Washington is an unbelievable city. Every kid should be required to visit it before they get to high school.”
They should just leave the basketball shoes at home.
