Micron Technology Withdrawing from Sematech: Micron said it will withdraw from the computer chip consortium that was formed in 1987 to compete with Japan, a spokesman for the company told Dow Jones. Micron said its decision will be effective in July. Micron is the second U.S. chip maker to abandon the venture this week. On Monday, LSI Logic Corp. announced that it was pulling out, citing strategic differences with the group and internal belt-tightening.
