Pomona : Storefront Office for Police
The Police Department will open a storefront office in the King’s Plaza shopping center at Holt Avenue and Fairplex Boulevard under an agreement approved by the City Council this week.
Police Chief Lloyd J. Wood said the office, which will be provided rent-free by the property owner, will be staffed by civilian volunteers. It will serve neighborhood watch programs and also give police officers a location where they can write reports and conduct other business.
This will not be a complete police substation, but City Administrator Julio Fuentes said he has asked Wood to develop a program of fully staffed substations the council can consider during its next budget sessions.
