Dupont, Procter & Gamble Fund Disposable Diaper Recycling: This week, in a test project carried out by Knowwaste Technologies Inc., a Toronto company, disposable diapers are being collected and recycled. The goal: to someday recycle them just as aluminum cans and newspapers are. Knowwaste chemically cleans, washes and dries the valuable pulp, which will be recycled as more diapers are turned into such products as writing paper or towels. The plastic liners would also be recycled.
