Los Angeles police have arrested two men in the fatal shooting of a Granada Hills jewelry store owner during an armed robbery in June, a detective said Monday.
Ricky Simuel, 22, and Jamal Clark, 20, both of Los Angeles, are in custody without bail, Lt. Daniel Lang said. Both were being held on suspicion of armed robbery and murder, Lang said. Simuel was in Los Angeles County Jail and Clark, who was arrested in Phoenix, was in custody there, Lang said.
The pair are accused of killing Norman Schumow, 62, of Granada Hills during a June 14 robbery of his jewelry store, the House of Time. An unidentified woman was slightly wounded in the leg during the robbery in the 16900 block of Devonshire Street, during which the robbers escaped with about $60,000 in rings, Lang said.
Lang said investigators identified Simuel and Clark through unspecified physical evidence left at the store.
