Florida writer Andrew Tobias, author of the popular “Managing Your Money” software for PCs, has some free financial advice for NCNB Corp., the North Carolina-based banking giant that changed its name to NationsBank as a result of its merger with C&S;/Sovran.
“Think of the millions of dollars they could save on new signs and stationery if, instead of NationsBank, they changed their name to ‘Nation’s Cutest Nicest Bank,’ ” Tobias says.
The proposed name, Tobias adds, would have the added virtue of softening NationsBank’s tough-guy image.
