SANTA PAULA : Authorities Identify Pair in Fatal Crash

An elderly Santa Paula couple who died after their car slammed into an office building were identified by authorities Wednesday as Arthur Peters, 79, and his wife, Alyce, 76.
The accident occurred Tuesday afternoon across from the Santa Paula Library on North 8th Street. Witnesses reported hearing the car accelerate sharply as it sped from the library’s parking lot across the street and rammed into an office building.
Investigators found nothing wrong when they tested the car’s throttle, Police Cmdr. Mark Hanson said.
