Dee Murray; Bass Player in Elton John’s Original Rock Band
Dee Murray, 45, the bass player in Elton John’s original rock band. John called Murray “one of the cornerstones” of his successful career. Murray was with John at his debut at Los Angeles’ Troubadour in 1970 and recorded with him until 1984. They produced seven No. 1 albums and such hits as “Crocodile Rock,” “Daniel,” and “Rocket Man.” On Wednesday in Nashville of cancer.
