Lions, Broncos Bid for Henning

SAN DIEGO — Dan Henning has become a man in demand.
Henning, dismissed as Charger coach after the season, returned from Detroit Tuesday night after interviewing to be the Lions’ offensive coordinator.
Henning also has been offered the opportunity to replace Mike Shanahan as Denver’s top offensive assistant under Coach Dan Reeves.
Both Detroit and Denver would like Henning to join their staffs in time to accompany them to Hawaii next week to coach the Pro Bowl.
However, Henning continues to have discussions with a third unidentified team.
“I’ve been just trying to put it all together,” Henning said. “I’ve got some thinking to do.”
