Newport Harbor Ends Tustin’s League Streak

NEWPORT BEACH — Newport Harbor ended Tustin’s 30-game Sea View League winning streak in girls’ basketball by defeating the Tillers, 49-46, Thursday at Newport Harbor.
Genevieve Evarts had 20 points for the Sailors (12-6, 4-1), who moved into a first-place tie with Tustin (13-6, 4-1). Kala Ross added 11 points and Maureen McLaren had eight points and 12 rebounds for Newport Harbor, which is ranked 10th in Orange County. Shari Needham scored 19 for fourth-ranked Tustin.
