SAN CLEMENTE — Two suspected illegal immigrants were captured after leading Border Patrol agents on a 73-mile chase from Temecula in Riverside County through Orange County and into La Mirada, authorities said Saturday.
The one-hour pursuit ended at 10:05 p.m. Friday when the 23-year-old driver and his 16-year-old passenger drove into a cul-de-sac in La Mirada, said Steve Kean, spokesman for the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service in San Clemente.
Kean said the driver has a record of alien smuggling and will be deported Monday.
